We are starting with a small inventory and once the weather cools off, will be stocking up on more styles and sizes as you show me we need to.  Styles and sizes to fit a variety of legs, both men and women.

Science of VIM & VIGR

VIM & VIGR compression legwear is scientifically designed to support your legs all day, every day, no matter your activity. Using integrally-knit graduated compression, our socks apply therapeutic pressure that starts at the ankle and gradually eases above. By squeezing the leg from the bottom up, our legwear can help increase the circulation of freshly oxygenated blood back to your legs.

How they Work

VIM VIGR Oxygenated Blood

Our legwear compression level is 15-20 mmHg. 20-30 mmHg available in select styles.

Tested & Trusted

  • All VIM & VIGR products are listed with the Food and Drug Administration.
  • Developed in partnership with vascular surgeons and vein clinics.
  • 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed.

You can benefit from compression socks if you are…

SITTING

Sitting for 90 minutes or more can cause blood flow below the knees to decrease by 50%, significantly increasing the chance of blood clots and reducing the amount of freshly oxygenated blood to reach your legs.

STANDING

Being on your feet puts a 20% greater strain on the circulatory system and on the legs and feet, which can cause fatigue and varicose veins.

EXPECTING

Pregnancy increases blood volume and pressure, which can inhibit blood flow and lead to swelling, fatigue, and varicose veins. In fact, about 30% of all expectant mothers will experience varicose veins during their first pregnancy. After a second or subsequent pregnancy, the odds increase to 55%.

EXERCISING

Using compression socks after working out increases the tissue oxygen recovery rate and has been shown to reduce muscle soreness by 28%.

TRAVELING

According to a recent British study, “all forms of transport involving a journey of 4+ hours led to an increase risk of blood clots forming in the veins of the legs”. Recent studies have concluded that airline passengers who wear compression stockings during flights can significantly reduce their risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) as well as leg swelling.

FAQs About Compression Socks

Who can benefit from VIM & VIGR compression sock products?
Anyone who sits or stands for long periods of time, pregnant women, frequent travelers, nurses and pretty much everyone else can benefit from wearing compression socks. According to Dr. Bo Johnson from the Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic, a sedentary person can benefit from graduated compression socks because they enhance the natural pumping mechanism in their legs and encourage blood to flow back to their heart and lungs. Active people such as endurance runnersflight attendants or those in the service industry can also benefit from graduated compression socks because they improve the overall circulation in their legs.

Why are these so hard to get on?
VIM & VIGR socks are a bit harder to put on than regular socks. That’s because of the way the socks are designed. There is Spandex woven throughout the sock to allow for an optimal level of compression from the ankle all the up to the leg. You need that level of compression in the legs to achieve health benefits.

Do I have to have a medical condition to receive benefits from VIM & VIGR compression socks?
Anyone can benefit from wearing our products. Most people don’t achieve optimal circulation in their legs which can cause leg fatigue, swelling and varicose and spider veins. VIM & VIGR can help with all of these issues. Our compression socks are specifically designed for everyday wear and can benefit anyone.

How do I know if I need 15-20 mmHg or 20-30 mmHg?
Most people benefit from the all- day, every day graduated compression provided by 15-20 mmHg socks. 20-30 mmHg is considered medical grade compression and generally recommended or prescribed by your doctor. mmHg stands for millimeter of mercury, which is the way that the pressure in each compression sock is measured.

I already have a pair of socks that are tight, doesn’t that provide the same benefits as VIM & VIGR socks?
Just because a sock is tight does not mean it’s a compression sock that offers the same health benefits. In fact, some tight socks can actually inhibit the flow of blood. VIM & VIGR compression socks are designed with a Gradient Pressure™ knitting technology featuring our standard 15-20 mmHg graduated technology. The ultra gradual compression starts at the ankle and goes up the leg, ensuring maximum comfort and effectiveness. We developed our socks with the assistance of vascular surgeons and vein clinics, and also test our product to ensure it offers an accurate compression level. Finally, our socks are listed with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

How should VIM & VIGR socks feel when worn?
It should feel like your legs are well supported. They need to feel slightly tight in order to receive the benefits but never painful. According to our customers, they’ll make your legs feel so great that you’ll never want to take them off! We also have a 30-day no question asked money back guarantee. See our Returns & Exchanges page for more details.

How often should I wear my compression socks? Can I wear them to bed?
You can wear them every day! Make sure to wash after each wear in order to maintain the shape and compression level for each wear. You can machine wash them but air drying is preferred.

Wearing compression socks to bed is entirely based on your comfort level. It is safe to sleep in the socks, but if you find it uncomfortable or experience any kind of pain, you should cease sleeping in compression socks immediately.

How often should I replace my VIM & VIGR compression socks?
It depends on how often you wear them, but we generally recommend every 6 months. If you experience product damages outside of normal wear and tear, please contact our customer service department at orders@vimvigr.com. We are happy to provide an exchange in that case.

Do the different collections feel differently when worn?
All of our compression socks have the same compression level (15-20 mmHg) but will feel differently when worn based on the material. You will receive the same health benefits from all of the socks and it comes down to personal preference. We highly recommend trying each fabric collection to determine your preference. If you have questions about which fabric might be best for you and your needs, please contact our customer service department.  You can also reference our fabric collection guide.

How should I care for my VIM & VIGR socks?
For best results, machine wash your socks after each wear in cold water. Air dry. Accidentally throw them in the dryer? It’s okay – your socks will be a bit tighter at first, but will comfortably stretch out with continued wear.

Will additional compression levels and styles be available in the future?
We are always working on new styles and designs for our socks. If you would like to be notified of new designs, please sign up for our newsletter. We’d love to hear your suggestions for designs and styles! Please email us at info@vimvigr.com.
