Dane found this talented couple and their art at market in January. The paper the prints and greeting cards are made on is impregnated with seeds so if planted in soil and watered, they will grow wild flowers. We brought in a small sampling of their large collection. Hope you’ll come in to enjoy it in person. Below is their story.
In the Land of Elsewhere is a combined creation of members of one family. Our unique images are created by combining our artwork and photography with vintage elements to create one of a kind style. All pieces are individually antiqued and distressed by hand to create a beautiful vintage look. All designing, printing, and stretching of the canvas is done entirely by our family. We produce literally thousands of pieces out of our studio monthly.
We use eco friendly materials of the highest quality. We seek out small USA businesses for materials such as canvas, paper, and stretcher bars to use in printing and developing our product.
Each family has their own section in this land we have created. We named our business Elsewhere because our artwork is created from places we have visited in person and in our imaginations. Our studios and homes are log cabins, build 12 ft up in the trees on the Brazos River outside of Weatherford Texas. We love to glean inspiration and creativity from our surroundings, whether it is working in our organic vegetable gardens or strolling down the sandy river banks as the sun sets or rises.
Natalia and Jason spend every summer entirely in Russia with Natalia’s family, where they seek to find remote flea markets and “out of the way” antique shops to search for that next unique vintage element to be added to our newest creations. They also work part of the summer on a family farm and Jason takes thousands of pictures of the beautiful Russian countryside to incorporate it into our artwork.
